Implante de queratinócitos autólogos em úlceras de membros inferiores de pacientes com sequelas de hanseníase / Keratinocytes autologous implantation in lower limb ulcers of patients with leprosy sequelae

Na hanseníase as úlceras podem surgir, principalmente,pelo fato de existirem áreas anestésicas, que com facilidade podem ser traumatizadas, queimadas e secundariamente infectadas. Este estudo teve por objetivo tratar as úlceras de membro inferior de pacientes com seqüelas de hanseníase por meio do implante de queratinócitos autólogos. The occurrence of ulcers in leprosy is mainly due to the existence of numb areas that can easily undergo trauma and burns and there after become secondarily infected. Helping a man with leprosy: a case study

PURPOSE: This case study illustrates nursing diagnoses and interventions for a man with leprosy. DATA SOURCES Data sources were published literature on the disease of leprosy, and the experience and expertise of the authors in working with people with leprosy. DATA SYNTHESIS: Data were synthesized using the standardized nursing languages of North American Nursing Diagnosis Association International and the Nursing Interventions Classification. The accuracy of the diagnoses and the appropriateness of the nursing interventions were supported by the positive health outcomes of the patient. CONCLUSIONS: Although leprosy has been eradicated in some countries, the risk of new cases is present anywhere that Mycobacterium leprae still exists. The recommended treatment of multibacilar polychemotherapy has lowered the rate of new cases in Brazil. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE Nurses need to incorporate evidence-based practice interventions for leprosy-based wound care, and nurses should encourage persons with leprosy to maintain regular medical care with multibacilar polychemotherapy.

O Processo de Enfermagem: uma revisão bibliográfica / Nursing Process: a literature review

Introdução -O Processo de Enfermagem é descrito na literatura como um método para sistematizar os cuidados de enfermagem. Este estudo buscou identificar a freqüência de artigos, ano de publicação; número de autores e titulação; tipo de pesquisa realizada e fase do processo enfocada. Material e Método - É uma revisão bibliográfica utilizando a base de dados Lilacs, buscando os resumos publicados no período de 1999 a 2004, disponíveis on line nos meses de abril a maio de 2005, com as palavras-chave: "sistematização da assistência","histórico", "diagnóstico", "prescrição", "intervenção", "processo", "evolução", "plano de cuidados", "prática", "implementação" e "resultados" todas seguidas de "enfermagem", com estas não foram encontrados referências bibliográficas alguma, com exceção do termo "diagnóstico de enfermagem". Resultados - Foram encontrados 287 artigos, dos quais 34 foram incluídos neste estudo, pois foram publicados nos periódicos eleitos para identificação dos artigos completos, foram incluídos também mais três artigos, embora os resumos não tenham sido encontrados on line, tinham a palavra chave diagnóstico de enfermagem e faziam parte desses periódicos. Na Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem foram encontrados 13 (35,1%); na Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem 11 (29,7%); Acta Paulista de Enfermagem cinco (13,5%); na Revista Paulista de Enfermagem e Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da USP, quatro (10,8%)artigos. Desses artigos 28 (75,6%) descreviam sobre a fase diagnóstico, quatro sobre diagnóstico e intervenção de enfermagem, três sobre o processo de enfermagem e dois sobre prescrição e intervenção. Os autores desses artigos eram doutores e/ou orientadores de alunos de pós-graduação. Os artigos na sua maioria tinham dois ou três autores. O tipo de pesquisa que predominou foi a quantitativa (89,1%). Conclusão - A produção científica sobre o Processo de Enfermagem nos periódicos analisados tem oscilado de ano para ano, mostrando a necessidade de uma melhora na freqüência de publicação no assunto.

Introduction - The Nursing Process is described in the literature as a method for systematizing nursing care. The present study aimed at identifying the frequency of manuscripts published, year of publication, number of authors and degree; type of research and phase of the process focused in the study. Material and Method - It is a literature review looking for abstracts published between 1999 and 2004, using the data base Lilacs, available on line from April to May of 2005, having the key words: "systematizing assistance", "history", "diagnosis", "prescription","intervention", "process", "evolution", "care planning", "practice", "implementation" and "results" all words followed by "nursing". No bibliographic references were found using such key words,except for "diagnosis in nursing". Results " From 287 manuscripts found, 34 were included in thisstudy because they were published in periodical elected for identification of full-papers, three other manuscripts were included in spite of not having their abstracts on line. They had the keyword diagnosis in nursing and were published in the selected periodicals. In the Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem 13 manuscripts were found (35,1%); 11 in the Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem (29,7%); five in the Acta Paulista de Enfermagem (13,5%); four manuscripts in the Revista Paulista de Enfermagem and Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da USP (10,8%). From those, 28 (75,6%) manuscripts described the phase of diagnosis, four were about nursing diagnosis and intervention, three were about nursing process and two about intervention and prescription. The authors were PhDs and/or post-graduate advisors. Most of the manuscripts had two or three authors. The type of research developed was mostly quantitative (89,1%). Conclusion - In the periodical analyzed the scientific production on nursing process has varied from year to year showing the need of improvement in the frequency of publication in this subject.
